Watching the tropics
OK, I know I have said it before but I will be posting to the blog much^2 more frequently from now. There have been a number of reasons for the delay in launching my blog, I will get into that in the coming days.
The tropics are already interesting, currently in the Caribbean there is an area of disturbed weather that the GFS is forming into a tropical storm by late week. Movement is towards the north and by Friday morning the GFS has the system a few hundred miles to the southwest of South Florida.
This will be repeated again and again but everyone has to remember that there are many models used in forecasting, each one with strengths and weaknesses. So if a model or even several models bring a system to a particular area three or more days out it must be taken with a grain of salt. Please do NOT plan on a system to affect South Florida but click back for updates as the week goes on. Since this is hurricane season we should already have our supplies in the event that something does come this way.
I'll be back in the morning for another update.
