Northeast Hurricane - Hype!

Yesterday I came across a story from Accuweather via the Drudgereport.com. The article went on to explain that the Northeast is poised to be hit by a hurricane and that it is a possibility that they could be hit this year.

As hard as I looked on their site I could not find similar articles for other coastal areas of the eastern US. There is absolutely nothing wrong with bringing attention to natural threats to an area but they way this is presented it seems imminent. We have seen over the past 10 years that we are in an active period for tropical systems and I think all of us in prone areas know to be prepared. But, then why does Accuweather feel as if they need to single out the Northeast.

Here is the story, see how you interpret it.

Please keep in mind that Accuweather is a private company that repackages and also augments the government's weather services for all types of industries and media. They have also lobbied the US Government to curtail information such as forecasts and discussions that are issued by local National Weather Service offices and put on their respective web sites so that you would have to go to commercial sites for such data.

It does make you wonder???
