Could Epsilon form tomorrow?

While Delta became extratropical today near the Canary Islands and
headed for Morocco tomorrow there is something else to watch. An area
of weather about 1000 miles from Brmuda is gradullay becoming better
organized. Sat agencies already have it at T1.5 as a subtropical
system. If this trend continues then it could be upgraded on Tuesday.

Delta!

With the end of the hurricane season about a week away, we have one more tropical storm to add to the list, Delta. I often wondered if we would ever get through a yearly list of names until the middle of this past summer when we were going through the list at a pretty good clip, then I thought would it not be interesting if we got to Alpha. Anyhow, here we are at Delta, the 25th named system.

Delta will not be a concern to any land mass as a tropical system so we do not have to be concerned about shutters with our turkey.

Have a Happy Thanksgivng!

Florida out of Cone of Concern

With the 4PM EST advisory we will no longer be in the cone of concern. With the relocation of Gamma earlier today, the slower motion and the cold front progressing as planned it appears that Gamma will not directly impact south Florida. We will see some rain and wind on Monday, but not to the extent that was originally thought yesterday.

Late this afternoon there will be a special upper-air recon mission that will be fed into the models this evening, with that data we should have a very good forecast. At this time this is good confidence with the current thinking.

Gamma

Yes, I know. If anyone still even checks to see if this blog is updated I will be very lucky. Since I last posted, Wilma hit our area. We were with out many things including power for 16 days. Then the day after we get power my wife gives birth to our first child :)

So here we are now. Gamma. Plain and short forecast, Gamma will follow a cold front that will be sliding down Florida Sunday into Monday. With the amount of shear due to the location of the front in relation to the storm I would expect maybe a tropical storm passing over the southern tip of Florida during the day on Monday.

Check back tomorrow for some fine-tuning and more info.

Good night!
